From Tragedy to Triumph: My Personal Story
I, too, experienced an accident at the age of three. It happened in my home village in Lebanon while playing the famous game of robbers and cops with a friend. We crafted a handmade bow and arrow; I played the role of the robber, and he threw the arrow toward me. Unfortunately, he hit my right eye, causing unbearable pain that surged through my head. The result was tragic—I underwent surgery that day, leading to the loss of sight in my right eye and a defective eye.
For several years, that eye haunted me, and I had to live with it. I walked around with it, facing rejection and bullying as people struggled to accept this difference. I sought love, but it kept eluding me, and overcoming the defective look of my eye was incredibly challenging.
The Power of Mindset Change
Is that the end of the story? Definitely not. I refused to be confined by an eye defect. I refused to let it define the real Romeo that others couldn’t see.
It all came down to mindset work. I had to take action to break the cycle of rejection and rediscover and redefine myself. That’s the power of a mindset change, and it began with me.
I initially procrastinated a lot before initiating the change because, at the start, I didn’t believe in myself. However, the more I delved into myself, the more I discovered the wonderful spirit within me. I began to view things from different perspectives.
