At three years old, an arrow took Romeo El Chaer’s right eye. He spent the next thirty years calling it the worst thing that ever happened to him. Then a construction site in the Niger Delta — a thousand men, fifteen percent safety compliance, and no authority to fix it — taught him otherwise. Three weeks later compliance stood at ninety percent. No new rules. Nobody fired. What moved those men wasn’t his position. It was the thing he’d spent thirty years calling damage. Romeo El Chaer is a resilient leadership speaker, coach and author based in Houston. Before the stage, his career was built in quality and safety management — ISO 9001 systems in manufacturing, then construction, energy and oil and gas across seven countries. He built a seven-figure business, lost it in the 2008 recession, and rebuilt his life and career in the United States after emigrating from Lebanon. He is the author of Rising Phoenix.
